Genevieve M. Boshar

Genevieve M. (Hadad) Boshar, 93, of Andover, MA passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2019. She was born in Lawrence, the daughter of the late Nemir and Marie Hadad.

Genevieve was a graduate of Lawrence High School and Boston City Hospital School of Nursing. John and Gen enjoyed many decades together, raised their family of five children, and visited many interesting places throughout the world. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family and socializing with her many friends. She welcomed them with a smile and a twinkle in her eye. She will be missed.

Gen had boundless energy and was involved in many activities. She formed long-lasting friendships through her years of taking creative and exercise classes, trips to Boston Symphony and museums, and her bridge group. Genevieve loved to read and was an active member of several book groups right up until her death. She was former President of Andover Garden Club, and enjoyed gardening and flower arranging. Later in life, she was found pleasure and friendship while participating in many programs at the Andover Senior Center. She was a member of St. George Eastern Orthodox Church in Lawrence, Genevieve participated in the Ladies’ Guild and was also a member of the Order of St. Ignatius.

She was the wife of the late, John Boshar and happily married for sixty-six years until his passing in 2016. Genevieve was predeceased by her brother, David Hadad and his son, David N. Hadad.

She is survived by her five children, Christine Muller and her husband, William of Grafton; Jeff Boshar and his wife, Susan Akram of Belmont, Thomas Boshar and his wife, Jennifer of Andover, Katherine Boshar of Andover, MA and Robert Boshar of Portsmouth, NH. Genevieve enjoyed being with her family and particularly enjoyed her nine grandchildren, Laura, Emily, Katie, Dan, Andrea, Anna, Shireen, Peter, and Leena; her three great-grandchildren; and her nephew and his wife, Joseph and Patricia Hadad and their daughter, Erica; and also by her sister-in-law, Louise Hadad.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. George Orthodox Church, 8 Lowell Street in Lawrence. Burial will follow in United Lebanese Cemetery, Lawrence.
