Gandolfo Cascio
September 21, 1939 ~ March 16, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old
Gandolfo Cascio, 83, of Stoughton, MA, formerly Lawrence, MA, peacefully passed away on March 16, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 21, 1939, he was the son of the late Bartolo and Giuseppa (Valenza) Cascio.
Born and raised in Polizzi Generosa, Sicily, Gandolfo left his home at a very young age to work at Mercedes-Benz in Germany. He came to the United States in 1967 and soon started his family with the love of his life, Nina (Aiello) Cascio. Gandolfo and his brother and best friend, Matteo, married two sisters, Nina and Frances. They lived together in a two-family home in Lawrence, MA and were all best friends. He was the ultimate family man and was an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Gandolfo was an excellent soccer player and always enjoyed watching sports with his family. He was especially excited to watch the United States and Italian national teams in World Cup competitions. He enjoyed the warmer months when he could spend time in the garden, always providing guidance to his children and nieces and nephews who desperately needed the help. He was a great cook and liked to make his staple meals, chicken soup, shrimp casserole, and pietanza, an Italian vegetable dish that brought his family together. Gandolfo loved going on vacations with his family, especially trips to Lake George, NY and Maine. He also enjoyed buying scratch tickets and playing the Megabucks, always saying that his family already made him rich.
Along with his parents, Gandolfo was pre-deceased by his wife of 44 years, Nina (Aiello) Cascio; his beloved son, Christopher Cascio; and his siblings, Salvatore Cascio, Pietrina (Cascio) Armano and her husband Domenico Armano; as well as his sister in-law and dear friend, Frances (Aiello) Cascio, and sister in-law, Irene (Aiello) LaPlante.
Gandolfo will be deeply missed and is survived by his loving children, Marc Cascio of East Bridgewater, MA, and Jaclyn Giannakoulis and her husband Paul of Stoughton, MA. He is also survived by his siblings, best friend, Matteo Cascio, Domenico Cascio, and Giuseppe Cascio and his wife Rita; and his nieces and nephews, Grace and husband Brian, Domenic, Lisa, Matthew and wife April, Lori and husband Jonathan, Kristina and husband Michael, Jennifer and husband Nate, Joseph and wife Evelyne, Brady, Gavin, Sonny, Nico, Cecelia, Payton, Ashley, Siena, Sophia, Nicholas, Lily and Leo.
