Gamaliel Cancel, Jr.

Gamaliel Cancel, Jr., 43, of Lawrence, MA, passed away on January 11, 2022. Born on November 4, 1978, he was the son of the late Gamaliel Cancel, Sr. and Francisca Lopez.

Gamaliel also popularly known as "Tito" was born and raised in Lawrence, MA. He was an avid sports fanatic and maybe the only New York Yankee’s fan in Lawrence. Gamaliel had a tenacious work ethic proudly employed by Cubical Solutions for seven years. He loved his job, to travel, and most of all his family. He was a profound father, brother, and uncle who had a very charming and charismatic personality, which always left a positive impact in everyone’s life. He will be sadly missed for he was taken from us far too soon. The great Babe Ruth once said, “Heroes get remembered, but legends never die” and that is exactly Gamaliel, a legend who will always have a special place in our hearts and minds forever.

He is survived by his daughters, Gamarieliz of Haverhill, Yelitza of Lawrence, Xaria of Lawrence; his sisters, Elsie Flores and her husband Tony of Chicago, Angela Cancel Perez and her husband Joel Perez of Haverhill; his girlfriend, Moraima Antonetty and her daughter Morayma Figueroa; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Mary Parish 300 Haverhill St., Lawrence. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
