G. Robert Marsella

G. Robert “Bob” Marsella, 95, of Methuen, passed away at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Born in Lawrence, Bob was the youngest of six siblings born to the late Lorenzo and Philomena (Iannazo) Marsella.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Upon his return he met the love his life of 40 years, his wife Mary, whom he had met while doing what he loved most in his youth, dancing.

He worked for Raytheon as a draftsman and retired after 35 years with the company. During retirement, he was a long-time active member of the Salem Athletic Club in Salem, NH.

Bob loved being with his family. Sundays were one of his favorite days for family gatherings. In years past he enjoyed taking annual trips to Aruba with his wife and close friends. In recent years, Bob enjoyed spending time with his dear friend, Barbara Strand. He will always be remembered for his kind-heartedness and generosity. He was a great father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife, Mary E. (Smeriglio) Marsella; his brothers and sisters, Connie Carelli, Angelo and Phyllis Marsella, Ann and Nick Maglio, Frank and Kitty Marsella, and Dot and Walter Kotyla.

Bob is lovingly survived by his son, Robert P. Marsella, and his wife Cheryl of Chester, NH; daughter, Susan M. Feole, and her husband Ralph of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Courtney D. Murphy, Robert J. Marsella, and his wife Sheena, Anthony M. Marsella, and his wife Jaime, Amanda M. Marsella, and Jacob Feole.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM in the funeral home following the visiting hours. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
