Frank James Sambuco

Frank James Sambuco, 95, of North Andover, MA, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Lawrence General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Frances (Pizzano) Sambuco. He is survived by his sister, Connie Marano of Pembroke, MA.

Born and raised in Boston, MA, Frank was the son of the late Salvatore and Sebastiana (Salemi) Sambuco, and attended Boston schools. He followed in his father’s footsteps and dedicated his life as a lobsterman for over 50 years.

At the age of 20, Frank married his sweetheart, Mary. The couple shared 70 wonderful years of marriage and Frank loved to share how he and Mary met at a Boston club where he taught her to dance. Together, they mastered the art of dance beautifully and continued to do so throughout their life, their retirement, and their winters in Florida. Together they also shared a love of travel over the years to Hawaii, Italy, and enjoyed road trips visiting their dear friends.

In addition to his wife Mary, Frank was predeceased by his siblings, Sarah Brown, Mary Ward, James Sambuco, and baby Frank Sambuco.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his children: Frank Sambuco and his wife Virginia of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Christine Ouellette and her husband James of Fall River, MA, Maureen McCarthy of Methuen, MA, Thomas Sambuco and his wife Kathleen of Andover, MA, Andrew Sambuco and his wife Kathleen of Melrose, MA, and Richard Sambuco and his wife Pamela of Andover, MA; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Julia, Elizabeth, Matthew, Valerie, Andrew, Alexander; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Charlie, Emma, Grace, Maxwell, Myles; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation hours on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 4:00–8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Augustine Church, 33 Essex Street, Andover, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
