Francis Caruso

Francis “Frank” Caruso, 95, of Fitchburg, MA, formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away May 5, 2020, at The Highlands in Fitchburg. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Catherine (Borgese) Caruso.

Frank was raised and educated in Lawrence. He attended Holy Rosary School and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1944. Frank was employed by Raytheon for several years prior to becoming an Insurance agent for John Hancock where he would work until retirement.

Frank was an avid reader and golfer and not to be forgotten were his Wednesday night card games with the boys for a game of 45s or poker. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society of Holy Rosary Church.

His happiest moments were spent with his family with whom he treasured the most. He would sit quietly and observe all the chatter and a smile would come across his face and you could see his unspoken words, “this is what life is all about, family, love, and togetherness, blessed by the Almighty.”

He leaves his beloved wife of 68 years, Jeanne Marie (Harrison) Caruso; his son, David Caruso and wife Vicky of Southport, NC; his daughter, Karen Sevigny and her husband David of Fitchburg MA; sister, Grace Caruso Longo of Lawrence MA; niece, Leslie Feinberg and her husband Jeffery of Wilmington, MA; nephew, John Longo of Columbia, MD; his four grandchildren, Taylor Malatos, Cory Sevigny, Matthew and Jennifer Caruso; and his great-grandchild, George David Malatos. 

At the request of the family, all services will be private and a memorial mass will be announced at a later date.
