Fangying Jin, 78, of Andover, MA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Born in Shanghai, China, she was the loving wife of 54 years to the late Lianfang Fan who passed away in 2019 and the daughter of the late Fugen Jin and Yuyin Gu.
Fangying was raised in Shanghai, China, where she attended local schools and earned her nursing degree. She worked as a nurse at Shanghai First Municipal Hospital for many years before retiring and moving to the United States to help raise her twin grandchildren, Charlie and Katie.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and was so happy to be able to spend so many Christmases with her granddaughter, Biyan who attended college in Montreal. Fangying enjoyed watching soccer and basketball during her spare time. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing, knitting and embroidery, but her specialty was traditional Chinese cooking.
Fangying was a natural leader who loved to create a fun atmosphere where everyone could be together to laugh and have fun. She was very wise and many people went to her to discuss important decisions that had to be made. Fangying was also a fierce debater and enjoyed discussing many different issues, never shy to share her opinion.
Fangying is survived by her daughter, Jin Fan Jaworski and her husband David; her son, Jun Fan and his wife Yuqing Liang; her grandchildren, Biyan Fan, Katie Jaworski and Charlie Jaworski; her brother, Jianmin Jin, his wife Lili Xu and their daughter Renyu Jin; and her sister-in-law, Lanfang, who she spoke with on a daily basis.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 10:30 AM–11:30 AM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 AM.
As of the latest update, we are able to offer visitation periods and funeral services in the funeral home or at a church.
·Please be mindful during visiting hours to keep your condolences brief so that others may offer theirs as well.
·Gathering in the lobby is not allowed so that we may adhere to health code mandates.
·Facemasks are required while inside the funeral home or church.
