Emilio V. Medugno, Sr., 91, of Methuen, MA, passed away December 25, 2020, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Malden, MA, he was the son of the late Emilio and Grace (DeRosa) Medugno.
Raised and educated in Malden MA, Emilio served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was married to Dawn (Jillett) Medugno for sixty-three years and with whom he raised fourteen children. He worked road construction and retired from Essex Bitomus Company after many years of service. Emilio was a member of the Sons of Italy in Methuen and enjoyed playing Bocci. He was at his best when surrounded by his family, as that was his greatest love.
Emilio was predeceased by his sons, Nicholas, Carmen, Curt, and Michael; brother, Anthony; and his sisters, Susan and Louise.
Survived by his wife, Dawn, Emilio also leaves his children, Sharon Merrill and her husband Daniel of Lawrence, MA, Cheryle Dubois and her husband Albert of Pelham, NH, Emilio V. Medugno, Jr. and his wife Angela of NY, John Shea and his wife Lynnellen of Methuen, Christopher Medugno and his wife Debra of Methuen, Rita Reynolds and her husband Roger of TX, Dawn Jeannine Curtis and her husband Denny of Methuen, Mark and Danielle Medugno, both of Methuen, and Carole-Lyn Murphy and her husband Lawrence of Methuen; his Godson, Neil Medugno of Everett, MA. He also leaves twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, as well his dear friend, Joe Dembkoski.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 4, 2021, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
As of the most recent update, we are able to offer visitation periods and funeral services in the funeral home or at a church.
