Elizabeth (Hester) Walters, 83, of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA. She was born on March 10, 1937, in Thomson, GA.
Raised and educated in Georgia, Elizabeth moved to New York City after completing high school and eventually settled in Lawrence in 1964. She was employed at Raytheon, in both California and Andover, as an electronic board worker for over twenty-five years before retirement. Memories she cherished most were times spent with her family and friends. She loved to play bingo, gin rummy, the piano, Bid Whist, sew, watch baseball, most especially her beloved Red Sox, and enjoyed tending to her home, both inside as well as the yard. Elizabeth was also a member of the 3rd Baptist Church in Lawrence.
She was predeceased by her husband, James W. Walters; mother, Jessie Mae Hester; and siblings, Sammie Lee Hester and Mary Cousins.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving daughter, Brenda Bello of Lawrence; adored granddaughter, Folashade Bello of Tewksbury; and sisters, Lula Legette of Methuen and Jessie Hampton of Andover. In addition, she also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, all services for Elizabeth will be held in private at this time with the assistance of Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen.
