Elizabeth Marie Fallisi
December 4, 1920 ~ October 6, 2019 (age 98) 98 Years Old
Elizabeth Marie (Combs) Fallisi, age 98, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Anthony F. (Tony) Fallisi with whom she shared fifty-eight wonderful years in marriage.
Born, raised and educated in Tazwell, VA, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late William T. and Amanda J. (Boothe) Combs and graduated from Tazwell High School in 1938. In her twenties, she was living in Washington, DC and working at the Mayflower and later at the Statler Hotel, both in Washington, DC. While working in Washington, Elizabeth first met Tony “ The Horn” in February of 1950, while he was on tour with the Al Donahue Orchestra and before long they were married and moved to Lawrence where they settled to raise their family. The two were so happy, creating a beautiful home for their children and always made sure that their children were well cared for, during that time Elizabeth’s primary job was a housewife and mother, and she also was a seamstress working from home doing work for neighbors and friends. Later in life she worked for Andover Medical Supply, from 1974 to 1982, as a Lead on an assembly line which made children’s diodes for heart monitors. She retired in 1982 to spend quality time with her husband Tony and they were able to travel to such great places as Hawaii, Spain, Italy and many other fabulous places.
Time spent with her family was most important to Elizabeth, especially days when they were at home enjoying a nice meal together, particularly those over holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas were always a special time at their home, enjoying the company of each other and that of their friends and relatives. Elizabeth will be remembered most by her children, for all of her love and support and her deep faith in God and for always being there for them.
Elizabeth is survived by her children: Melinda LeShane and her husband Donald of Bedford, MA, Reverend Anthony S. Fallisi and his wife Dotty of Pittsburg, PA, Paula Leger and her husband Ivan of Haverhill, MA, Carol Hatem and her husband Daniel of Methuen, MA, Patty Shock of Waterbury, CT; grandchildren: Mathew, Kelly, Christopher, Cheryl, Douglas, Lauren, Mark L., Annette, Mark H., Stacie; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her seven siblings: Fred Combs, Elmer Combs, Louise Hicks, Howard Combs, Francis McNeil, David Combs, and Roy Combs.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2019, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at St Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway in Lawrence.
