Elias Zaher Nabbout
March 29, 1967 ~ January 26, 2020 (age 52) 52 Years Old
Elias Z. Nabbout, 52, of Andover, MA, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020.
Born in Cheikh Taba, Akkar, and raised in Tripoli, Lebanon, Elias attended high school at the Ecole des Peres Carmes. He went to college and medical school at the Universté St. Joseph in Beirut, Lebanon. He immigrated to the United States in 1996, and pursued residency in internal medicine in Cambridge Hospital. In 2002, he moved to Lowell and joined the staff of the Saints Medical Center, where he held numerous leadership positions including serving as a member of the hospital’s Board of Trustees. Ever the entrepreneur, Elias set up his own very successful primary care practice, Global Care Medical Group, which he grew to a team of nine providers in recent years. He has served as an active member of the Lowell General Hospital medical staff for the last thirteen years.
As a physician, Elias was the ultimate compassionate professional. His patients trusted him, and loved his unparalleled bedside manner. His colleagues always spoke of his great interpersonal skills, as well as his willingness to teach and learn. A man of few words, his wit was forever present. The Greater Lowell population will miss a great physician.
A great man is an understatement of a phrase to describe “Lelous” or Elias, not just as a physician but also as a husband, father and friend. Whether it was helping his patients or teaching his little daughter how to tie her shoes, Elias was there for everyone whenever they needed it. It is no surprise he was named the “Unanimously Un-elected Mayor of the Lebanese community in Massachusetts.”
He is survived by his devoted wife of nineteen years, Karine, and their four lovely children, Charlie (16), Mikey (15), Justin (9), and Zara (5), all of Andover; his parents, Zaher and Moufidah Nabbout of Lebanon; sister, Katia, and her husband, Steve Palmer, of Hopedale, MA; brothers, Jean Claude and his wife Adele Nabbout, of Lebanon, and Gaby and his wife Samar Nabbout, also of Lebanon.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home chapel. A private burial will be held on a later day.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Elias’ memory may be made to Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center https://donate.jeannegeigercrisiscenter.org.
