Elias Najib Hanna

Elias Najib Hanna, age 70, of Andover, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sabah Nabbout, with whom he shared forty-four wonderful years in marriage.

Born, raised, and educated in Cheikh-Taba, Akkar, Lebanon, the son of the late Najib Hanna and Julia Khalil, Elias received his degree in Accounting. He enjoyed a wonderful career in the business world, owned a private elementary school, and retired as a branch Vice-President at the National Social Security Fund.

Elias first settled with his wife Sabah in Lebanon where together they created and cherished a wonderful home for their family. In 2012, Elias and his family embarked in a new journey to Houston, TX where they enjoyed their new home and made so many new friends. In 2020, after the loss of their son-in-law, Dr. Elias Nabbout, Elias and Sabah moved to Andover, MA to support their daughter Karine and her children.
Elias was a dedicated and devoted father who shared his wisdom, strength, patience, and trust with his children, family, and friends. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved and respected by many. His mission was extended to his grandchildren by offering love, support, prayers, and encouragement that supplement what a mom and a dad give.

He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his wife, Sabah; children, Lara and her husband Jack Wakim of Lebanon, Karine Nabbout and her late husband Elias, of Andover, MA, Julie of Lebanon, Odile of Qatar, and Najib-Georges of Toronto, Canada; grandchildren, Charles, Michael, Justin, and Zara Nabbout; siblings, Nouhad Hanna-Jreige, Najat Hanna-Geitany, Hamid Hanna, Nadia Hanna-Fazaa, Issam Hanna, Amal Hanna-Khoury, Albert Hanna, and Violette Hanna-Hawat; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation hours on Friday, September 3, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA. A funeral service for Elias will be celebrated on Saturday, September 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 61 Bowers Street, Lowell, MA 01854. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 44 Bowers Street, Lowell, MA 01854.
