Eleanor M. (Martino) Stella

Eleanor M. (Martino) Stella, 86, of Methuen, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Mary Immaculate Health Care in Lawrence. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Michellina (Campagnone) Martino.

Raised and educated in Lawrence, Eleanor was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1951. She was a tester at Lucent Technologies for nineteen years before retiring in 1997. Eleanor married Joseph, her lifelong love, confidante, and best friend, in 1956 at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence. She made many memories with her beloved husband, whether it be traveling, dancing, or hosting events at their home. She enjoyed doing scramble puzzles, walking, and cooking for the family. She was proud of her achievements but she was most proud of her family, in particular, her beautiful grandchildren.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P. Stella and five siblings, Anthony, Albert, Margaret, Stella, and Celia.

The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the caring staff at the Memory Unit at Mary Immaculate Health Care.

She is survived by her two sons, Joseph M. Stella and his wife, Lucia of Methuen, and Bruce F. Stella and his wife, Connie of Methuen; siblings, Benjamin Martino, Armando Martino, and Ida Silva; cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Joel, Jessica, Joseph, and Domenic. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Methuen.
