Eleanor A. Karcz

Eleanor A. (Slauter) Karcz, 92, of Lawrence, MA and formerly of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Mary Immaculate Health Care in Lawrence. She was the wife of the late Michael S. Karcz.

Born and raised in Lawrence, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Kurzlotsky) Slauter, Eleanor was a graduate of Lawrence High School. She retired from Eaton Nova.

An active parishioner of St. Lucy Church, Eleanor was a member of St. Lucy Sodality, was a Eucharistic Minister, lector, and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary at the Arnold Greenwood Post. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and puzzles. Most of all she felt blessed with time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eleanor was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah Girardi; grandchild, Thursday Girardi; siblings John Slauter and George Slauter.

She is survived by her sons, Robert J. Karcz and his wife Linda of Haverhill, MA, and Michael S. Karcz, Jr. of Germany; son-in-law, Thomas Girardi; grandchildren, Kimberly Tierney and her husband William, Tracy Baillargeon and her husband Mark, Melissa Dufault and her husband Jim, Kerri Karcz, and Taylor Girardi; great-grandchildren, Greta, Finn, Rowan, Gabriella, Mark, Jr., Carys, Jude, Juilan, Bobby, Billy, and Abie; siblings, Carolyn Duffresne and James Slauter; sisters-in-law, Stella Landry and Joanna Slauter; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Peasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen. Burial will follow at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
