Edward S. Janeczak
September 22, 1949 ~ September 26, 2021 (age 72) 72 Years Old
Edward S. Janeczak, 72, of Andover, MA, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2021, at Lawrence General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was married to the love of his life, Teresa, for 52 years. Born on September 22, 1949, he was the son of the late Lucjan and Stanislawa (Zielinski) Janeczak.
Eddie was born in Glinik, Poland, and came to the United States in April, 1963. He met Teresa at a dance and instantly they knew they were meant for each other. They settled in Lawrence where they raised their three children before moving to Andover in 1992.
For 50 years, Eddie was a laborer for Local 175, President for 30 years, where he worked many different jobs. Ed worked hard to provide for his family and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Eddie loved classic cars and restored a 1965 Plymouth Satellite to near mint condition. He was a true car buff and enjoyed many different cars and was always tinkering with one. Eddie was the social butterfly at the dances but never really cared for dancing. The Patriots and Red Sox were his favorite sports teams and he followed them closely. He was a handyman who could fix anything and always had something on the list that needed fixing or repairing. Most of all he loved his lawn and took great pride in its appearance. He loved to travel, some of his favorite places were to Poland, the Caribbean, and many places in the US. Eddie was a lifetime member of the Julian Stopyra Post in Lawrence.
In addition to his wife Teresa, he is survived by and will be missed by his children, Christine Janeczak of Tewksbury, MA, Dorothy DeVito and her husband Joseph of Wakefield, MA, Thomas Janeczak and his wife Jessica of Andover, MA; grandchildren, Brandon, Cameron, Alexa, and Jacqueline; his brother, Z. John Janeczak and his wife Elizabeth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Church, 340 High Street, Lowell, MA. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
