Dorothy C. (Balletta) Verdolotti, 91, of Haverhill passed away peacefully on the morning of July 22, 2020. Born and raised in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Antoinetta (Cipolla) Balletta.
Dorothy was a graduate of Lawrence High School. In the years following her graduation, she worked as a legal secretary for a local lawyer. In later years, she became the owner and director of the M. Fazio Institute of Beauty Culture in Lawrence from 1978 to 1989. Here, she touched the lives of many loyal patrons and students who affectionately called her “Miss Dotty.”
She was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence and a member of St. Rita’s Sodality.
Dorothy enjoyed spending winters with her husband in their Florida home for many years as well as their many trips to Foxwoods.
She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Marilyn Verdolotti and her sister, Lee Lisi.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Frank Verdolotti; her daughters, Carolyn Williams and her husband Scott of Florida, Beverly Mackie and her husband Brian of Haverhill, and Barbara Coco and her husband Tom of Hampton, NH; grandchildren, Taryn Matatall and her husband Chris, Kierstyn DeWolfe and her husband Paul, Dan and Mike Coco, and Brian Mackie, Jr. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, Matthew, Mackenna, Mia, and Marisa.
Private funeral services were held July 24, 2020, at Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen. She was buried alongside her daughter at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
