Dorothy J. Towler

Dorothy J. Towler, aka Dottie, 89, of Andover, MA, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Dottie was born February 22, 1933, in Adams, MA to the late Joseph and Wanda (Lebowicz) Koscielniak. At an early age her family moved to Methuen, MA, where she attended local schools and graduated from the then Searles High School in 1951. Soon after, Dottie met and eventually married the love of her life, Robert Towler with whom she shared 63 wonderful years until his passing in 2016. During that time they raised their family in the house she grew up in until 1975 when they moved to Plaistow, NH.

Throughout her life, Dottie enjoyed reading, music, traveling, and family. She also loved all animals and was known for gathering any unwanted leftovers to feed the wild critters that would reside near their house, usually to the dismay of her husband. But most of all she loved people. She was woman with many friends and would talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Dottie is survived by her sons, Thomas Towler and his wife Gina of Seattle, WA, Chris Towler and his wife Kathleen of North Andover, and Robert Towler, Jr. and his wife Pamela, of Haverhill; her sister, Irene Kerton and husband Vincent, of Windham, NH; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Dottie was predeceased by her son, David Towler, who passed in 2013; and her brothers, Joseph Koscielniak and Edwin Koscielniak.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, at 10:00 am at the Sacred Heart Church in Bradford, MA.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to American Humane (americanhumane.org), a highly regarded non-profit committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of animals.
