Dorothy M. Burns

Dorothy M. (Connor) Burns, 89, of Haverhill, formerly of Lawrence and Methuen, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 30, 2019 at Hannah Duston Healthcare Center.  

Born in Lawrence and Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Lawrence High School.  She lived in Methuen for the greater part of her life before moving to Florida, where she lived for seventeen years.  She moved back to the Haverhill area in 1999.

The wife of the late William Burns, Mrs. Burns was the mother of the late Sandra K. Burns.  She is survived by four sons, Robert B. Burns and his wife Elizabeth of Dracut, William T. Burns and his wife Karen of Methuen, Barry J. Burns and his partner Samuel Rivera of Bradford, and Roland T. Soen of Plaistow, NH; three daughters, Carol H. Soen of Haverhill, Sharon A. Chapman and her husband Steven of Plaistow, NH, Candice M. Burns and her partner Katherine Reed of Methuen; fourteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their most sincere thanks to the caring staff at Hannah Dustin HealthCare Center and the Merrimack Valley Hospice for their kind and compassionate services over the last few weeks.

A private graveside service will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. There will not be any visiting hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.
