Doris Sevigny, 92, of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully after battling breast cancer on Friday, May 29, 2020, at Cedar View Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Methuen, MA. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Albert and Angeline Sevigny.
Raised and educated at St. Anne’s School, Doris was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Anne’s Church until it closed. She then became a parishioner at St. Anthony Church. She devoted her life as a caregiver to her loving parents as well as her aunt, Alice. Doris had a passion for sewing and cleaning for many people. Doris was also an avid animal lover, especially dogs. Family and friends were the center of her life and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her. She could often be found having lunch or dinner at the neighborhood McDonald’s or Wendy’s with friends from the Essex Towers, where she resided for thirty-three years.
Doris was pre-deceased by her long-time friend, James McCue; her loving cousin and her husband, Claire and Clement “Lefty” Berthiaume; and cousin, Anthony Roger. She is survived by her cousin’s four daughters and their families: Denise Berthiaume of Lawrence, Diane Brown of Ogunquit, ME and her son and grandson, Chad and Rylin Levasseur of Alaska, Doreen and her husband Neil DeLuca of Ogunquit, ME and their children: Callie DeLuca of Austin, TX, Evan DeLuca of Fitchburg, MA, Dale and her husband Glenn DeLuca of Hampstead, NH, Ashley DeLuca of Pelham, NH, and Abigail DeLuca of Hampstead, NH. She is also survived by close friend, Patricia Lynch.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 1, 2020, at St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street in North Andover. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover. Due to current COVID-19 conditions, social distancing and a face mask will be required. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
