Doris I. Cleary

Doris I. (Dionne) Cleary, 86, of Haverhill, MA, passed away May 24, 2020 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Alice Dionne.

Raised in Lawrence, Doris was a graduate of St. Ann’s High School. Besides raising her three children, she worked for many years as a clerk at Carousal Cleaners in North Reading, MA. She enjoyed camping, playing video games on her I-Pad, and spending time with her granddaughter and her great-grandchildren.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, James Cleary, and her brother, Ernest Dionne.

She is survived by her children, James Cleary and his wife Marilyn of Methuen; Kevin Cleary and his partner, Richard Learoyd of Haverhill, and Karen Cleary and her companion, Theresa Godose of Salem, NH; granddaughter, Kelly D’Hondt and her husband Brian of Methuen; and her great-grandchildren, Hailey, Delaney, Riley, Brody, Averey, and Kinsley. She also leaves several cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral mass at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at St. Lucy Church, 254 Merrimack Street inMethuen. All guests are asked to please meet at the church. There will be no public visiting hours. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at stjude.org.
