Domenic E. Tankersley

Domenic Eugene Tankersley, age 46 of Methuen, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 11, 2023, in the comfort of his home. He was the son of the late Rufus Louch and Linda (Tankersley) Scionti.

Born in Neptune, NJ, Domenic first lived in Asbury Park, NJ, until his family moved to Lawrence, MA, while he was in middle school. He was a 1995 graduate of the Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical High School, where he played varsity basketball. He went on to attend Hesser College in Manchester, NH.

Domenic started in the electrical field and eventually transitioned to financial services, where he enjoyed working in collections and mortgage services. Another interest he had was completing home-renovation projects, working with tools, and using his hands.

From an early age, Domenic enjoyed sports, especially basketball. He enjoyed playing at the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence. Domenic was named an All-Star for the 1993 Commonwealth Classic Christmas Boys Basketball Tournament. As much as he enjoyed playing basketball, he appreciated the many friends he made along the way; these were friendships and memories he held close to his heart.

Most of all, Domenic was committed to his family. He always looked forward to family events. His two sons meant the world to him, capturing any opportunity to go deep sea fishing with them, as those were times they treasured. He also was proud to cut his sons’ hair, something he took pride in doing for them.

Domenic is survived by and will be greatly missed by his two sons, Giovanni Hartford of Manchester, NH, and Domenic Tankersley. of Manchester, NH; mother, Linda Scionti and her husband Steven of Methuen, MA; brothers, Levi Tankersley of Dorchester, MA, Ryan Tankersley and his wife Julie of Windham, NH; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 19, 2023, between 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be celebrated immediately following in the funeral home chapel.
