Desire M. Farah

Desire M. (Sgueglia) Farah, 70, of Methuen, MA, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. She was born on June 6, 1949, in Lowell, MA, the daughter of Carl and Rita Sgueglia.

A graduate of Westford Academy, Desire left her professional career to own and manage several mom-and-pop shops and restaurant businesses with her husband Haikal in the local area. She was an adored community member. Always a New Englander, she was a loyal Patriots and Red Sox Fan, loved cooking for family, and enjoyed road trips with her best girlfriend, Bobbi O’Rourke.

Desire was the devoted wife of Haikal “Mike” Farah; loving mother of Robin Poirier and Michelle Poirier; dear sister of Brenda Barlow and the late Dennis Sgueglia; and proud pet owner of beloved Shitzu, Yoshi. She is also survived by her many loving friends and other family members who cherished her generous spirit and her eternal optimist attitude.

As a result of the ongoing health crisis in our world and out of love and concern of our family and friends, Desire’s Celebration of Life Gathering will be private and planned in the coming months.
