Deanna Marquis

Deanna Marquis, 64, of Lawrence, MA, passed away on September 20, 2021, at Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill, MA. Born on March 5, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Raymond E. and Margaret V. (Hyder) Marquis. 

Born and raised in Lawrence, Deanna graduated from Lawrence High school. She was an amazing mother to her daughter, Jessica, and always worked two jobs: one as a paraprofessional as well as at retail stores, which included Bradlee’s, A.J Wright, and Marshalls to provide for her family.

Deanna worked in the Lawrence school system for over thirty years, starting at the Hennessey School and later at the Guilmette school, both in Lawrence, as a paraprofessional. Her passion and care for her work made a great impact on both the students and her colleagues. She was the Union Representative for the school, and always put others before herself. Deanna was very passionate about her Christian faith and involved at her church, The Riverside Assembly of God, where she used to sing in the choir.

Along with her parents, Deanna is pre-deceased by her brother, John R. Marquis.

Deanna will be deeply missed and is survived by her loving daughter, Jessica Marquis; siblings, Donna M. O’Connell and her husband Richard of Methuen, James R Marquis of Methuen, and Jeffrey R. Marquis of North Andover, MA; her nephew, Christopher R. O’Connell of Methuen; and her aunt, Rita Marquis, of New Jersey. Deanna is also survived by many cousins and their spouses in this area, New Hampshire, and New Jersey.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 29th, at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. The family kindly requests that anyone who is not vaccinated to please wear a mask. Flowers sent to the funeral home and donations to The Riverside Assembly of God are most welcome.
