David C. Himmer, 66, of York Harbor, ME, passed away peacefully after a short period of illness, surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. He was the son of Anita (Todd) and Raymond C. Himmer, Sr., of Port St. Lucie, FL.
Born and raised in Methuen, MA, David graduated from Methuen High School, class of 1971. Shortly after, he began working as a farrier. A few years later, he began a new adventure, one that started in real estate and resulted in his life-time career as a builder/developer. David took great pride in being self-employed throughout his career. Himmer Homes was respected throughout the industry. David made many friends in the process.
One to keep busy, David surrounded himself with the company of those he loved. Helping others was his passion. David’s generosity positively impacted many people in his lifetime. In spite of a busy schedule, he always remained focused on his family, which was the most important part of his life. His favorite times were the large family gatherings, especially during the holidays. In the early years, gatherings were hosted by his parents, following which he was happy to accept the opportunity to welcome all into his home for these special celebrations. David’s strong love for his family is what kept him so determined and driven throughout life. This was demonstrated in his quest to help his daughter Ashley achieve all that she could in life and also witness the success of his son, Kory. The memories of these special bonds will be with them always.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by his son, Kory D. Himmer and his wife Kristina of Swampscott, MA; daughter, Ashley R. Himmer of Danville, NH; their mother, Linda (Robinson) Himmer; cherished granddaughter, Ella Rae Himmer; brothers, Andrew Himmer of Hampton Falls, NH, Tod Himmer of Chester, NH, Raymond C. Himmer, Jr., of Gilford, NH, and Richard Himmer of Port St. Lucie, FL.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visitation between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.
