David J. DiFilippo Sr.

David J. DiFilippo, Sr., 85, of Salisbury, MA, and formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with COVID-19 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA. He was the son of the late Emilio and Mary (Fusco) DiFilippo.

Born and raised in Lawrence, MA, David was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, class of 1954. He had true passion and joy for the people of Lawrence. He spent many years involved in local government, serving on the Lawrence City Council, and as Chairman of the Lawrence Housing Authority and Airport Commission.

David loved spending time at Salisbury Beach, keeping up with local politics, and watching the Boston Red Sox. He especially loved watching and attending the Red Sox games with his brother, Gabriel. When David was not visiting the beach or helping the people of Lawrence, he spent his time traveling. His travels took him to new places across the globe.

David is survived by his son, David J. DiFilippo, Jr., of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one brother, Gabriel DiFilippo and his wife Mary of North Andover, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

Services for David will be celebrated in private under the direction of Cataudella Funeral Home, Methuen, MA.
