Daniel J. Viscosi, 92, of Andover, MA, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022, at the Soldiers Home in Chelsea, MA.
Mr. Viscosi was born in 1929 in Lawrence, MA, the son of Vito and Carmela (Covino) Viscosi. He graduated from Lawrence High School and later attended Suffolk University. For many years, he was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Senior Right of Way Agent.
Dan was a pilot with the Civil Air Patrol. He served in the US Navy Reserve and then graduated from the US Army Leadership School during the Korean War.
Dan enjoyed family gatherings. He was considered to be the consummate family man.
His survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mary K. (O’Grady) Viscosi and three children: David Viscosi of Hampton, NH, Daniel Viscosi of Methuen, MA, and Valerie Viscosi of Andover, MA. Survivors also include eight grandchildren: Michael, Marty, Ben, Sam and Faye Viscosi, Pauline Mohs, Vivian and Mary Steinbaugh; one great-granddaughter, Ariana Viscosi; as well as several nieces and nephews. Dan was pre-deceased by his sisters, Helen Brokaw and Mary Keith, and brother, Armand Viscosi.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in St. Monica Parish, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
