Concetta (Cugno) Brancato, age 80, peacefully passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020. She was the wife of the late Gaetano Brancato with whom she shared forty-nine wonderful years in marriage.
The daughter of the late Santo and Santa (Deluca) Cugno, Concetta was born and educated in Pachino, Sicily. She and her family immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1956, where she lived for five years. Gaetano, who also had emigrated from Italy and had settled in Lawrence and asked for her hand in marriage. In 1964 they were united in marriage and first settled in Lawrence for a time before moving to Methuen. During this time, she worked as a stitcher for Grieco Brothers until her retirement.
A dedicated mother and homemaker, Concetta loved to keep her house in good order and cook for her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with Gaetano watching soap operas, and looked forward to her trips to Toronto to visit her family.
In addition to her husband, Concetta was predeceased by her siblings, Salvian (Cugno) Iacono and Sebastian Cugno, both of Toronto.
She is survived by her sons, Maurice Brancato and his wife Susan of Florida, and Santo Brancato and his wife Dawn of Salem, NH; grandchildren, Olivia Brancato and Santino Brancato; and several nieces and nephews all of Toronto and the Methuen area.
Services for Concetta will be held in private with the assistance of Cataudella Funeral Home in Methuen. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
