Tribute

Clermont J. “Clem” Martineau, 61, of Methuen passed away Monday, May 11, 2020, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. Born in Quebec, Canada, he was the son of the late Benoit and Veronique (Auger) Martineau.

Raised and educated in Lawrence, Clem was a graduate of Lawrence Vocational Technical School. He was an auto body mechanic and worked for Motta’s Auto Body in Methuen.  He had a passion for hunting and he enjoyed hunting with his two brothers Flo and David, his nephew Chris, son-in-law Patrick and many friends. Clem also enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife Diane and their two grandchildren.  He was a member of the Centralville Sportsman’s Club in Dracut, MA where he served on the board of directors and was the head of the cooking committee. He enjoyed volunteering his time for many of the events they held each year.

Clem was the kind of man that people gravitated to, you either liked or loved him. He had a quick wit and had an infectious smile. He was married to the love of his life and soulmate Diane for forty-one years. They shared a special bond that people could see and feel in one encounter. Their love was the kind of love people wish and dream about finding, their love for each other will last for an eternity. Family was so important to Clem; he raised two daughters with love and compassion. Clem (Pa) loved his grandchildren; he took the time to play, laugh, spoil and share his love of the outdoors with them.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jean Pierre Martineau, and his mother-in-law, Maureen Tisbert.

Clem is survived by the love of his life, Diane (Tisbert) Martineau; his dear children, Veronica Hill and her husband Patrick of Methuen and Michelle Martineau of Methuen; his dear brother, Florent Martineau and his wife Louise of Brentwood, NH; his dear sister in-law, Nancy Lambert and her husband Brian of Pelham, NH; his dear sister-in-law, Ann VanDooran and her husband David of Salem, NH; his dear sister-in-law, Robin Tisbert and her significant other Mike Williams of Chelmsford, MA; his dear father-in-law, Robert Tisbert and his wife Alice of Plainville, MA; his cherished grandchildren, Allora Ramos and Collin Hill. He also leaves his nieces, Danielle, Fallon, Cheyanne; and his nephews, Christopher and Brain.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
