Christine M. Maranto

September 13, 1956 ~ June 4, 2019 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Tribute

Christine M. (Rheaume) Maranto, 62, beloved wife, mother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at Kaplan Family Hospice House on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. She will be remembered for her robust energy, positive attitude, and strength in the face of adversity and loving nature.

Born on September 13, 1956, in Lawrence, MA to the late Joseph and Claire (Martineau) Rheaume, Christine was the oldest of four children. She was a graduate of North Andover High School, as well as Northern Essex Community College, and Northeastern University, where she earned her degree in Human Resources. It was while she was employed at Nixdorf Computers that she met her husband, James, an electrical contractor working on her office floor, and the rest was history. They married in 1986, and shortly after they had their first child, daughter, Michelle, followed by son, Michael, they moved to raise their family in East Hampstead, NH.

Christine was a very involved mother, always engaged in various activities with her children and naturally meeting new friends throughout the community. Her life was centered around her family and they benefitted from her commitment to them. Christine became the assistant softball coach for the Hampstead Middle School Hawks, leading them (and her own daughter) to three school championships. It was only when her children entered high school that she pursued an active and successful banking career, meeting many more friends along the way and greatly enjoying her work for Enterprise Bank.

On the leisure side, Christine enjoyed playing tennis, gardening in her backyard, shopping, and boating. Traveling also brought much joy to her life, as she loved to spend time at her other homes the family once had in Pompano Beach, FL and entertaining in Montreal, QC. She also frequently visited her family in California, Pennsylvania, and New York City.

Christine is survived by her loving husband of thirty-three years, James; her children, Michelle Maranto and Lindsay Sorin of Hoboken, NJ, and her son, Michael Maranto of East Hampstead, NH. She also is survived by her sister, Kim, and brother-in-law, Jon Swift, of Simi Valley, CA; brother, John, and sister-in-law, Jane Rheaume, of Royersford, PA; brother, Paul, and sister-in-law, Beth Rheaume, of Royersford, PA; her parents-in-law, Sam and Barbara Maranto of Methuen, MA; as well as many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. No discussion of Christine’s life and passions would be complete without mentioning her much loved and doted upon dogs, Tammy, Bentley, and grand-dog Izzie.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Christine’s life by gathering for calling hours at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 8th at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, to be followed by burial in Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
