Charles E. McRobbie, Jr., 81, of Methuen passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 at High Pointe House in Haverhill. He was born April 6, 1937 in Lawrence to the late Charles and Rita (Toomey) McRobbie.
Charles proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Remey. He earned the National Defense Service Medal for his service. He worked most of his adult life for Raytheon and proudly retired after thirty-five years of service. He loved the game of golf and his time working at the Merrimack Valley Golf Club in Methuen. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and was head of the Clan Drummond of Perth Society, providing opportunities for others to connect with their past. His faith and his time spent at St. Monica Parish were very important to him.
Predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Joyce, Charles leaves his son, Charles E. McRobbie, III and his wife, Jayne; son, Kevin M. McRobbie and his wife, Donna; and his daughter, Paula J. O’Brien and her husband, Thomas; his eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathryn, Monica, Mary; and his brother, Michael. He also leaves behind many close friends.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, March 28th at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
