Charles R. Grasso

Charles R. Grasso, 87, of West Peabody, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at his home.  He was the husband of Carlotta (Romatelli) Grasso, with whom he shared forty-seven wonderful years in marriage.

Born and raised in East Boston, the son of the late Angelo and Josephine (Schraffa) Grasso, Charles graduated from East Boston High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country proudly in the Korean War.  After his return from service, he received an Associates Degree in drafting from MIT.

He first met Carlotta in 1970 and the two were married a few years later and settled in West Peabody. Charles loved to dance, enjoying any event that provided this opportunity as well as the opportunity to surround himself with his friends.  Dedicated to the sport, he enjoyed many hours on the course, loving every golfing event he could attend.  More than all of these things, Charles was most happy in the presence of his family, especially his wife, Carlotta.  He was particularly fond of her cooking, especially her Italian cooking.  Together, he and Carlotta enjoyed their home in Florida and in most recent years, he also enjoyed going to the senior center, where he made many friends.

Charles was pre-deceased by his brothers; Anthony, Emilio, James, and Vincent Grasso. In addition to his wife Carlotta, he is survived by two sons, Paul Adams and his wife Jacqueline and Scott Adams and his partner Lilly Romero; one granddaughter, Emilia Adams; and his brother, Pasquale Grasso.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, services for Charles will be private with the assistance of Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles’ memory may be made to the M.S.P.C.A, Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
