Catherine Scarelli

Catherine “Kay” Scarelli, age 92, passed away on Saturday April 7, 2018 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Center in Lawrence. She was born on March 10, 1926 in Lawrence where she lived and worked her entire life. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence and spent her career working at Grieco Brothers clothing factory, the Internal Revenue Service, and Holy Family Hospital. She loved going out dancing and socializing, spending time with her family and friends, and playing cards and bingo. Catherine was a constant jokester, always delighting people with her sense of humor. She was very creative and enjoyed writing and sharing her poetry.

Catherine is predeceased by her parents, Antonio & Madeline (Scalera) Scarelli, as well as three brothers Americo, David, and Anthony Scarelli, and three sisters Mary Musumeci Girgenti, Lena Traina, and Margret Davis.

She is survived by four sisters, Frances Borrelli of Lawrence, Palma Hill of NH, Eleanor Kidle of AZ, Rosemarie Donoghue of FL, and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank everyone at Mary Immaculate Health Care Services for their work and friendship with Catherine during her time there.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial visitation on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A memorial service will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence in a private ceremony on Monday, April 23, 2018.
