Tribute

Timothy II 4:7 - “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have remained faithful.”

Carole E. Catteau, age 78 of Methuen, MA, entered the gates of heaven on July 25, 2018. Carole endured a long battle with polycystic kidney disease and all the challenges that resulted from her kidney transplant and years of dialysis. Her faithful journey will remain an inspiration to all the lives she touched. Carole impacted many lives with her smile, constant optimism, and her gentle spirit. The life-long lessons instilled will be remembered forever.

The loving wife of Richard Catteau, Carole shared fifty-seven wonderful years of marriage. They were an adventurous couple and over the years enjoyed hobbies like snowmobiling, mopedding, cross-country skiing, dancing, playing 45s, taking cruises, boating on Lake Winnipesaukee, and their special season in Clearwater Beach, FL.

Carole had a love for music. She was very active in her church and choir of Forest Street Union Church in Methuen, Windham Presbyterian Church in Windham, NH, Oakland Sidney United Methodist Church in Oakland, ME and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church of Merrimack Valley in Methuen. A long-time resident of Methuen, Carole graduated from Tenney High School in 1958. She had a work history with Town of Methuen School Dept as a teacher’s aide, a distributor of Dutchmaid clothing, Perrault Chiropractic, and Penacook Place Nursing Home administration, as well as Colby College in Maine.

A devoted wife and mother, caring sister, and loyal friend, Carole lived for her family, most importantly her grandchildren, and treasured those precious moments together. There was no greater joy than being on the sidelines of her grandchildren’s events.

Carole was predeceased by parents, Joseph H. and Enid (Messer) Wilson; brother, Joseph “Bucky” Wilson; and in-laws, Remy and Marion Catteau; and brother-in-law, Ronald Catteau.

She will be missed by her loving husband, Richard Catteau; daughters, Roanne Colizzi, and husband, David, of Winter Harbor, ME, Lynne Poublon, and husband, John of Athens, NY, Candace Colizzi and husband, Michael, of Atkinson, NH, Cathy Lee, and husband, James, of N. Strafford, NH, and Debra Kent-Paul of Portland, ME; her eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Jane (Wilson) Hindes and husband, Steve, of Derry, NH; and brother, John E. Wilson of Pompano Beach, FL.
