Carol A. McCarthy

Carol A. (Gillespie) McCarthy, 82, of North Andover passed away Thursday, August 1, 2019.  Born in Lawrence, she was the dear daughter of the late Charles, Sr. and Anna (Masuk) Gillespie.

Carol was raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.  She worked as secretary for AVCO and many other area companies.  She became a certified health aide and worked at Ashland Farm.  She also volunteered her time at area shelters including Daybreak Shelter. 

Carol enjoyed the beach, shopping, going to social events with her friends, and spending holidays with her family.  She was a loving daughter, sister, auntie and friend.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Marlene Taylor, Laurence and Stephen Gillespie, and her sister-in-law, Anita Gillespie.

Carol is survived by her brother, Charles Gillespie, Jr. of Methuen and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral mass at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main St., North Andover.  Burial will be private at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.  By the request of the family there will be no visiting hours.  For directions or to send condolences, please visit www.cataudellafh.com.
