Carol A. D'Hondt

Carol A. (Alvino) D’Hondt, 77, of Methuen passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Lawrence General Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Torino) Alvino.

Carol was raised in Lawrence and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and attended the Bentley School of Accounting.  After marriage, she moved to Methuen, where she resided for the past fifty-six years as a homemaker, devoted mother, and a loving grandmother. She later worked at the former Rich’s Department Store.  
 
Carol is survived by her beloved husband, Arthur, with whom she would have celebrated fifty-seven happy years of marriage this month; her daughter, Darlene Jacobsen and her husband, Ed of Andover; and her grandchildren, Danielle and Michael, who lit up her life. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, good friends, and her dear niece, Marialice McGillicuddy. She was predeceased by her siblings, Saverio (Sam), Joseph, and Albert Alvino, and Phyllis Wade.
 
Carol's witty sense of humor, fun-loving spirit, and ability to light up a room will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered. Our family will forever have a beautiful angel smiling down on us.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen.  Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.  For directions or to send condolences, please visit www.cataudellafh.com.
