Carmela Dorto

Carmela “Millie” D’Orto, age 81, of Lawrence, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020, at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center in Lawrence. She was the daughter of the late Concetta (Sciuto) and Vincent D’Orto.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Millie first attended schools in New York. As she entered into high school, Millie joined her family as they relocated to San Jose, CA. A few years later, she returned to the east coast and settled in Lawrence. Shortly after, Millie began working as a clerk for the IRS in Andover, until her retirement some thirty-five years later.

A devout Catholic, Millie was a longtime supporter of St. Basil Seminary where she regularly was found volunteering and attending weekly mass.

Predeceased by her parents, Millie is survived by many cousins.

Services and interment will be held in private with the assistance of Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA 01844.
