Carmela L. Dome

Carmela Lucy “Mellie” (DiPaola) Dome, 96, of Methuen, daughter of the late Alfio and Venera DiPaola, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020. She was the widow of the late Robert F. Dome.

Mellie was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church her entire life. She was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality and St. Rita Sodality and her mission in life was to be of service to people. She had a kind heart and a gentle soul.

Together, Mellie and Bob enjoyed a beach house that was a family and friends’ oasis, where they would have buckets of pasta and pots of corn on the cob that never ended.

Mellie volunteered for the Red Cross, Classic Threads and Immigrant City Archives. She was also a world traveler and enjoyed her occasional trips to Foxwoods. She will be missed by all.

In addition to her husband, Robert, Mellie was predeceased by her sister, Frieda Pappalardo; and her brothers, Charles DiPaola and Philip DiPaola.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Dube; niece, Maria Dzialo; nephews: Edward, Ernest, John, and George Dube; and several great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit from 8:00-9:15 AM on Monday, March 16, 2020, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen with a funeral mass following at 10:00 AM at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street in Lawrence. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
