Carlos A. Leon-Nazario

Carlos Alberto Leon-Nazario, 45, of Kissimmee, FL and formerly of Lawrence, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was the husband of Shirley Leon.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and raised in Lawrence, Carlos was the son of the late Carlos Juan Leon-Rentas and Olga Maria Nazario-Saez, and a graduate from Lawrence High School. As a young man, Carlos got involved in different community programs and worked for several landscape companies in Massachusetts where he began to love the landscape field and grew to truly enjoy his work. He gained the respect of many for his hard work, vast knowledge and skill in his profession. Most recently, he worked at Buffington Experienced Landscaping Company in Saint Cloud, FL, where he was treated with respect and love by his co -workers and met many good people.

An outgoing person, Carlos was unique in many ways and easily made friends with those he met. His true enjoyment of friendships and people extended far beyond those he knew, always showing his compassion for others, especially the homeless. He really enjoyed watching sports and attending church services. He loved being around animals, especially dogs, and his family, of whom he was so proud.

In addition to his wife Shirley, Carlos is survived by and will be dearly missed by his son, Alex Yeidel Leon of Puerto Rico; step-children: Gamalier Rivera and his girlfriend Solmary of Orlando, FL, Stacy Zuniga and her husband Luis of Davenport, FL, Manuela Gonzalez of Orlando, FL, Shirley Acevedo and her husband Izzac of Auburndale, FL; mother-in-law, Hilda Vazquez of Kissimmee, FL; grandchildren: Yezhoel Reyes, Yeriel Reyes, Zhoemar Reyes, Fabian Gonzalez, Mateo Acevedo; sisters: Maria Ivette Leon of Lawrence, MA, Leticia Leon of Haverhill, MA; and half-sisters: Maritza Leon of Waterford, MI, Lizmarie Leon of Pontiac, MI. He is also survived by his brothers: Angel Luis Leon of Boston, MA, and Carlos Javier Leon of Methuen, MA; sister-in-law, Cia Alayon of Methuen, MA; nieces: Karyna A. Pagan, Aureliz Cepeda, Giada Leon, Leyshmarie Gonzalez, Kelmarie Chavier, Nyalise Flores, Cheyanne Dinicola; nephews: Christian J. Leon, Jayden Luis Cepeda, Javien Leon, Jeremy Gonzalez, Kelvin Omar Chavier, and Ismael Flores; uncles: Domingo Leon, Federico Leon, Ramon Leon, Angel L. Leon, Tito Leon, Luis Nazario, Daniel Nazario, Jose Nazario, Ramon Nazario, all of Puerto Rico, Jaime Nazario of Lawrence, MA and Eliseo Leon, Helmer Nazario of Florida; aunts: Elba Nazario, Maria Isabel Leon of Florida, and Ada Leon of Michigan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 3:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
