Bobbie Jean Ota-Firth, 72, of North Andover, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16, 2019, at Prescott House in North Andover. Bobbie was born on November 21, 1947 in Ogden, UT, the only daughter among eight children of Bob and Norma (Kanzaki) Ota.
She grew up in Andover, and although surrounded by seven (yes, seven!) younger brothers, was a model student and an absolute angel of a person. She graduated in 1969 from UMass Lowell (fka Lowell State College) with a degree in Education. Bobbie lived in many places from coast to coast, but finally settled down in the Merrimack Valley.
Bobbie led a life centered around serving, as a teacher at the Methuen Community Kindergarten and raising her two children. Through her life as a teacher, Bobbie reached out to many families and made a positive impact on their children, and, in some cases, their children’s children.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Blanchard and her husband, Tod; her son, Christopher Firth; her brothers and their spouses, Brian Ota, Mark and Laurie Ota, Wayne Kanzaki, Mike and Vivian Ota, Bob and Kat Ota, Barry and Ann Ota and Glen Ota. She also lives behind many, many nieces and nephews as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
There will be a private graveside service at West Parish Cemetery in Andover. In lieu of flowers, Bobbie has requested that you spend your time and money with those you love and cherish.
