Beverly J. Ricci

Beverly June (Reed) Ricci passed away peacefully on August 2, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born in Andover, MA to the late Albert and Mildred (Abbott) Reed, Beverly was raised and educated there. She moved to Methuen shortly after she married Nicolas Ricci, and there they enjoyed fifty-two years of marriage. She worked at the Arlington Trust Company, Shawmut Bank, and the IRS, from which she retired after thirty years of service.

Beverly was a wonderful wife, mother, and nana. She was so proud of her family and would brag about them whenever she had the chance. She loved family gatherings for holidays, special events, or just cookouts. Until recently, Bev enjoyed long motorcycle rides, boating, fishing, and taking long walks with her husband, Nick. As a mother and nana, she clocked many years cheering on her children and grandchildren at their events; and she never missed a week going to visit her son’s grave and light a candle for him. Family meant a lot to her and spending time with her sisters, nieces, and nephews was always high on her favorites list. Over the last two years, she would often take her grandpuppy, Neko, to the beach and to any dog park she could find. Bev loved to play bocce at the Sons of Italy in Methuen. She also enjoyed playing the slots at the local casinos, especially because she would often win; she was one lucky lady.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Nicholas John Ricci, Jr.; children, Brenda Corso and her husband, Steve of Derry NH, Karen MacLean and her husband, Lee of Bradford, MA, Michael Ricci and his girlfriend, Katy Cargiulo of Salem, NH, and Kevin Ricci of Methuen. She also leaves her grandchildren, Christopher Corso, Samantha Corso Garside, Nicole Corso Curry, Michael Ricci, Jr., Stephenie Corso, Emiliee MacLean, Bella Ricci, Chuck MacLean, and Mitchell MacLean; her sisters, Mildred Demers Waldie, and Cora Rogers and her husband, Jim; brothers-in-law, Arthur Ricci and his wife, Jamie, and Jack O’Brien; her sisters-in-law, Christine Reed, and Sharon Pattullo and her husband, Don.
Predeceasing her was her son, Nicholas Ricci, III; her brothers, Albert, Burton, Walter, Frederick, and Ronald; and sisters, Bertha, Joyce, and Judy.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 2 – 6 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. The service will take place at 10:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.
