Bertrand “Bert” LeBlanc, 94, of Methuen, MA, passed on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on his family farm in Degelis, Quebec, Canada and was the son of the late Edgar and Yvonne (LaMontagne) LeBlanc.
Raised in Canada, Bert settled in Lawrence, MA, in 1962. He worked as a purchase inspector until he retired from Malden Mills. He loved life, and his family and friends meant everything to him. His most treasured moments were times spent with his loved ones. In his younger years, Bert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and fixing cars. He also enjoyed playing solitaire, going to the beach, and being surrounded with friends who were like a second family. He had a heart of gold especially when it came to helping others, and had a great sense of humor. Bert was a loving, compassionate, kind man who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was predeceased by his first spouse, Edna St. Pierre; siblings, Lucian and Germaine LeBlanc; brothers-in-law, Alphonse, Mederic, and Lucien; and sister-in-law, Doralis.
Bert is survived by his cherished wife, Rachel (Garneau) Taschereau of Methuen; adored children, Diane Pelletier of Manchester, NH, Joseph LeBlanc and his wife, Mariane of Lawrence, Jean Guy LeBlanc and his wife, Brenda of Manchester, NH, and Ginette Bard and her husband, Real of Vermont; siblings, Cecile LeBlanc, Gabrielle LeBlanc, Simone LeBlanc and her husband, Joseph Overka of Lawrence, and Gille LeBlanc and his wife, Sylvainne of Canada; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; nieces, Nicole and Amie St. Pierre, both of Methuen. In addition, he also leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Bradford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bert’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
