Barbara Ann Gangi

Barbara A. (Borrelli) Gangi, 90, of Methuen, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip M. Gangi, DMD.

Born and raised in Lawrence, Barbara was the daughter of the late Raphael and Florence (Sciacca) Borrelli. After graduating from Lawrence High School, class of 1950, she relocated to Boston and began work for the United States Navy at the Charlestown Navy Yard as a supply and logistics specialist. She loved this opportunity and was ever thankful, as it was then that she met her sweetheart, Philip. Later, she and Philip opened a successful family dental practice in Lawrence, which eventually relocated to Methuen.

After settling in Methuen, they began their family. Barbara was happy to stay at home and provide a loving home atmosphere, as family was the heart of everything she did. Her love for her children was magnified with the arrival of her grandchildren, whom she loved and adored. Many memories were made with her family over Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings. She also spent a great deal of time at their home in Salisbury Beach, making memories with friends playing cards or celebrating sunny days on the beach under an umbrella watching her grandchildren.

Barbara was predeceased by her brother, Raphael Borrelli, M.D., and her daughter-in-law, Amy Travers-Gangi.

She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children, Susan Parsons and her husband Christopher of Methuen, Christopher P. Gangi and his wife Theresa of Methuen, Peter M. Gangi of Haverhill, and Paul M. Gangi, DMD of Methuen; and her grandchildren, Dylan Parsons, Braeden Parsons, Taryn Gangi, Alexandria Gangi, Matthew Gangi, Rylan Gangi, Wesley Gangi, and Austin Gangi.

Her family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Natasha DeLeon, RN, for all her loving care given to Barbara.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
