Arthur A. King Jr

Arthur A. King, Jr., 69, of Haverhill, MA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. Born on January 20, 1950 in Haverhill, MA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Shirley (Ellis) King.

Raised and educated in Haverhill, Arthur graduated from Haverhill High School, class of 1967. He attended UMass-Boston, obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Arthur worked as a tester at Lucent Technology.

Arthur took pride in living a life of good morals and decency. He loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, Karen. Arthur enjoyed watching the Patriots, going out to eat, traveling with his wife, playing Chess and teaching it to those at the Haverhill Senior Center. Arthur was an A-Rated chess player and was fortunate enough to have had lessons with his idol, John Curdo, a master chess player.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Karen R. Krikorian; sister, Avis Malcuit; three nephews: Shawn Malcuit and his wife, Ramona, Randi Malcuit, and Leo Byron and his companion, Dineen; a great-nephew/niece, Michael and Brianna; sister-in-law, Kathy Pelliccione and her husband, Vincent; brother-in-law, Karney Krikorian and his companion, Marlan; aunt, Roxanne Bone; and many cousins.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Friday, November 29, 2019, from 11:00–1:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Haverhill.
