Tribute

Arline E. Soucy (Groleau), 86, of Lawrence, MA, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 6, 1935, she was the daughter to the late Philip and Alphonsine (Demers) Groleau.

Born and raised in Lawrence, she graduated from Sacred Heart High school and attended Macintosh Junior College for Accounting. Arline worked in the office at Ludington Footwear and in Payroll at Hardy Brush. She also worked for Compugraphic for twenty eight years before retiring in 1993.
Arline and her husband Frank retired to Florida, where they spent nineteen wonderful years. They enjoyed going out to eat with their friends, and playing games. In 2016, Arline moved back to Massachusetts after the passing of her beloved husband, Francis “Sibby” Soucy.

Arline loved gardening, making puzzles and sewing, she was the family seamstress. If something had to be mended, it was mom to the rescue. Arline loved her beautiful, sweet, Maine coon cat, Lola. Most of all, she loved her family more than anything. She was always the most happy when spending time with her husband and children. Arline often said that the best years of her life were when she was raising her three children. Arline had a sweet smile, a huge heart and a beautiful soul, she made friends everywhere she would go, and will be missed by many.

Along with her parents, Arline is pre-deceased by the love of her life, Francis “Sibby” Soucy, her son, Francis “Bucky” Soucy, and her brother, Robert J. Groleau.

Arline will be deeply missed and is survived by her children; Carolyn A. Obermeier, and her husband Glenn, Alan J. Soucy, and his wife Christine; grandchildren, Nicole Soucy, Victoria Soucy, and Randy Romano., and great grandchildren, Taylor and Kristen. She is also survived by her sister in-law, Rachel Groleau, and nephew, Robert J. Groleau Jr..

The family would like to thank Arline’s hospice team from All Care and Guardian Angels for all of the wonderful care they showed their mom.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Michael’s Parish, 196 Main Street, North Andover. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 80 Corbett Street, Andover.
