Archie B. Caredeo
April 13, 1935 ~ December 8, 2018 (age 83) 83 Years Old
Archie B. Caredeo, 83, a former longtime resident of Methuen, MA, died peacefully on Saturday December 8, 2018 at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence surrounded by his family.
Son of the late Louis and Jennie (Mercier) Caredeo, Archie was born, raised, and educated in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1952.
A U.S. Navy Veteran (1954-1958), Archie served aboard the USS Shangri-La as a 2nd Class Radarman. He graduated from Northeast Industrial Tech in Boston, MA for Drafting and Design. He was employed as a Draftsman for Process Engineering in Plaistow, NH and Badger Engineering in Cambridge, MA. In 2001, he retired from Computervision in Bedford, MA as a Software Test Engineer.
Archie was a man of strong faith, an avid gardener, and loved to play the piano. In fact, he had an amazing talent of being able to play a song by ear that he would hear on the radio without any sheet music. Archie was a true basketball fanatic; he loved watching the Boston Celtics and enjoyed college basketball as well.
Archie is predeceased by his daughter, Donna Jean Caredeo; his grandson, Johnathan Caredeo; his brother, Joseph (John) Caredeo; and his sister, Josephine Cristaldi.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Claire A. (Arsenault) Caredeo of Lawrence MA; his children, Stephen Caredeo and his wife, Kathleen of Salem, NH, David Caredeo and his wife, Denise of Tewksbury, MA, Susan Berube and her husband, Michael of Salem, NH; his grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Ashly, Joshua, and Jessica Caredeo, Stephen and Christopher Berube; his brother and sister-in-law, Louis and Jeanette Caredeo, his sisters, Dorothy Romano, Louise Arsenault, and Joan Minasalli; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the entire staff of Mary Immaculate Nursing Home for their warm and compassionate care.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to calling hours on Thursday December 13, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.
