Sleiman J. Aziz

Sleiman J. Aziz, beloved husband, devoted uncle, and respected community member, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on November 13, 1933, in Gezzine, Lebanon, Sleiman was the last surviving member of his five siblings. During his time in Lebanon, he was the National Lebanese Wrestling Champion.

A man of great integrity and warmth, Sleiman is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Helen Aziz of Salem, NH, and a host of nieces and nephews spread across NH, MA, Lebanon, France, and Monaco.

Having earned a degree in Engineering, Sleiman embarked on a distinguished career, beginning with Philips and later contributed his talents to RCA. In 1971, he became the first in his family to emigrate from Beirut to Manchester, NH, seeking new opportunities.

Throughout his life, Sleiman remained deeply committed to his faith and his community. He was a devout Christian, never once missing a Mass. His dedication extended beyond attendance, as he served as an active member and acolyte at both St. Anthony Church and St. Joseph Church in Lawrence, MA.

Sleiman’s legacy is one of humility, kindness, and generosity. He touched countless lives through his selfless acts of service and his unwavering support for those in need. He treated all his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews as his own children and grandchildren imparting wisdom, love, and guidance.

Sleiman J. Aziz will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of faith, compassion, and community will continue to inspire generations to come. May he rest in eternal peace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to in St. Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 241 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA 01841.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Rte. 113, Methuen, MA. His funeral services will be held Friday, April 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM in St. Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 241 Hampshire St., Lawrence, MA. Burial will be in United Lebanese Cemetery, Lawrence, MA.
