Robert G. Dion, 74, of Methuen passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston. He was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Romeo Roland Dion and Mary (Sadezwicz) Martelli.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Methuen. He worked for over thirty years as a machinist at Malden Mills. He enjoyed gardening, restoring cars, music, and going to flea markets.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Barbara (White) Dion; daughters, Jackie Lynn Porter and son-in-law Ron Stachura, and Victoria Dion; step-daughter, Laura (Dion) Atchue (deceased); brother, Thomas Pearey and his wife Naomi of CA; sisters, Barbara Black and her husband Kenneth of Salisbury, Margie Peters Nerys and her husband Tony of AZ, and Marijane Pearey of Mansfield; mother and father-in law, Ron and Pat Covello; grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua Atchue, Shayla Purlington, David Stachura, and Evan McDermott whom he raised as a son.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours at 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Reception will follow at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 90 Broadway in Methuen.
