Richard S. Garofalo, 71, of Lawrence passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Wingate at Haverhill. He was born in Lawrence and was the son of the late Domenic and Santa (Sapia) Garofalo.
Richard was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and also attended St. John’s Prep. He worked for the Lawrence Housing Authority and retired in 2012.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step-mother, Josephine (Valeska) Carney-Garofalo.
Richard is survived by his fiancé, June C. Lustenberger of Lawrence; sisters, Joanne L. Earley and her husband Bill of Salem, NH and Diane M. Garofalo and her husband Bob Westburg of Scarborough, Maine; godchildren, Stephen Earley and Jake Conway; nephews, Michael and Stephen Earley; great-niece, Brielle and great-nephews, Treston, and Cade. He also leaves his beloved dog, Coco Puff.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St. Lawrence. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence.
