Prudence T. (Cavallaro) Candela, 94, of Haverhill passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Academy Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Cirino and Angela (Rapisardi) Cavallaro.
Mrs. Candela was raised and educated in Andover. She was devoted to her family and raised five children. She enjoyed gardening, loved the Red Sox and was a great cook. She was also a parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence.
Mrs. Candela was predeceased by her husband, Michael Candela, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Michael Candela, Jr. and his wife Marie of Windham, NH, Lucille Lavin and her husband Jay of Haverhill, Richard Candela and his wife Brenda of Derry, NH, Charles Candela and his wife Catherine of Pelham, NH and John Candela of San Francisco, CA; her sister, Lucy Motta of Lynn; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St. Methuen. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St. Lawrence.
