Methuen Firefighter, Patrick Michael McKallagat, 37, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Born in Methuen, he was the son of Stephen and Patricia (Moriarty) McKallagat of Methuen.
Patrick was a graduate of Methuen High School and North Shore Community College where he obtained a Fire Science Degree and graduated with honors.
Patrick was an amazing father who adored his daughter, Aliya, with whom he spent nearly every day. She was truly the light of his life.
A friend to literally hundreds, Patrick enjoyed sharing laughs and good times with each and every one of them. His smile was infectious and would light up any room.
Patrick was a selfless and devoted son and brother who always placed family and friends above all else.
A six-year member of the Methuen Fire Department, Patrick proudly served with his fellow brothers and sisters, took great pride in serving his community and especially assisting those in need.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Chief Timothy Sheehy and the men and women of the Methuen Fire Department for their amazing acts of support since Patrick's passing. Each gesture of kindness has helped to ease our enormous loss during this difficult time and will not be forgotten.

Besides his parents, Patrick is survived by his daughter, Aliya Grace McKallagat; brothers, Mark McKallagat of Salem, NH and Shaun McKallagat and his wife Paula of Methuen. He also leaves many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
